Gold Medal "Outstanding" at the 2019 Decanter World Wine Awards, the Little Quino Pinot Noir has been called by Master of Wine Peter Richards the future of Chilean Pinot Noir. Crafted in the Malleco Valley, the southernmost viticultural region of Chile, the area has enormous potential. A few years ago, there was only 30 hectares of total vineyards planted in Malleco, with only 10 hectares of Pinot Noir. Located near the 38 parallel, the cool climate defines the style with volcanic soils contributing amazing minerality. It's a perfect site for Frenchman William Fevre to expand his Chilean projects, and this low alcohol (11.5%) Pinot Noir has more in common with Alsace than Burgundy. Pairs superbly with classic dishes in light, creamy sauces, grilled red meats and vegetable dishes.
"Appealingly racy and low in alcohol, Cristián Aliaga's Pinot Noir is a blend of the 115 and 777 Burgundian clones and is fermented with 15% whole bunches. Sappy, fresh, juicy and tangy, it's very much a southern style with just a hint of oak. 2021-25" Tim Atkin, 90 Points
